The story takes place in the 17th century in the Great Steppe of Kazakhstan. Inkar is forced to flee after becoming the victim of a failed magical ritual. Evil spirits try to possess her body and take away her ancestral gift. Soon, she meets two brothers who may be able to help her cross the sea.
